Overlord: Explanations – Tower-Heart

(This based all knowledge I have of Overlord Series and, the ideas and the theories that Overlord Fans have about the Overlord Series. Everything belongs to their respective owners and so please do not sue me.)

Tower-Heart
This is the Tower-Heart, milord. Also called the Overlord Heart, the Crystal Heart, the Castle Heart, the Nether Heart, and ten dozen other names and titles with the world 'Heart' at the end. An ancient artefact of great power that was created by your ancient ancestor, the First Overlord. The Tower-Heart is a great source of power, which expends and grows in power as the Overlord’s powers grow and his domain expends. This symbiotic relationship allows whoever is chosen as Overlord to have all the previous powers gained and wielded by all the Overlords from Ages Past.

The Tower-Heart is an magical construct, which is essentially a big mana-siphon at its core. It draws raw mana, spiritual, elemental, and magical energies from its environment without damaging it. It collects and stores these energies, concentrates it, and uses it to power your magicks, maintain your tower and empire, and extends your lifespan and that of your family.

The Tower-Heart extracts these energies from all the land that the Overlord has claimed or conquered and if there are sources of spiritual, elemental and magical energy, like temples, volcanoes, magical springs, mana crystal deposits or other forms of energy, the Tower-Heart is able to absorbed far greater amounts of energy and increasing the Overlord’s powers massively.

The Tower-Heart also absorbs little bits of energy from the people who you have conquered and if magical creatures inhabit the land you conquered, the Tower-Heart absorbs bits of their energy too. Magical creatures emitted allot more energy than normal creatures, so it is always good to let few of them live so that you may gain more power.

As the Overlord conquers more land, the Tower-Heart grows in power expansionally, which in turn makes the Overlord’s powers grow even greater. The Tower-Heart does not leech energy from the land like a parasite, my lord; it just extracts little bits and pieces, which combines them to produce a greater power.

The Tower-Heart also allows us to teleport anywhere we have explored before, channel magic into the Tower's main functions and then give the excess magic to its current Owner, and the Tower-Heart can even choose the Next Rightful Overlord from all of his Descendants. However, when one is not available the Heart will pick someone with a great evil in his or her heart and soul to lead us until a True Overlord is ready for his true destiny! The Tower-Heart is linked to you just as it is to us Minions, as one of the True Overlords you are able to call forth its full power.

You see, Sire, whenever we find a True Overlord, The Tower-Heart reacts and the magic's that created us Minions make us unable to betray our True Lord in any way shape or form possible, but not so with the usual substitutes that come along every now and then… You see when a 'substitute' overlord takes the place of a true Overlord, we minions usually either get him into a situation where he cannot win OR we wait until a bunch of bloody pathetic hero's come along and let them kill the substitute…. We can’t anyone stealing your families’ heritage now can we?

Over the years the Tower-Heart has become semi-sentient, all most instinctively following the orders that the First Overlord has left behind and seeks to protect and preserve the bloodline of its creator at all cost with the best of its abilities.

Sometimes it speaks to us, showing us images and clues where to find our new Overlord. The Tower-Heart is an living entity, it has been the cornerstone of every Overlord Empire throughout  history and is the heart and soul of our power, sire. Some of us Minions even believe that the Spirit of the First Overlord became one with the Tower-Heart so that he can watch over us, protecting his descendants and us Minions forever.

You must always remember that it is not the Overlord who chooses the Tower-Heart, but the Tower-Heart that chooses the Overlord and only a rightful heir of the First Overlord can unlock and wield the full power of the Tower-Heart, powers so great that the world will tremble before you! Several of your ancestors once used the full power of the Tower-Heart to kill a God! Impressive is it not?
